My role: Web Designer
About the project
Dublin Dental University Hospital is the major dental teaching hospital with a mantra of evolving to meet patient and student needs.
With online learning becoming more needed and accessible for working professionals, Dublin Dental designed their own post grad curriculum. We were challenged with redesigning their website to increase visibility, enrollment, and create a distinct identity for the online program.
Thinking through flows
I lead strategy using a framework I developed that combines the three levels of marketing awareness—awareness, consideration, and decision with wireframing. The different perspectives are used as a framework to write the web copy. Each design is influenced by the different levels of awareness, resulting in designs differing in interaction and layout to communicate goals in a more dynamic way.
Informational: straightforward, technical writing
Service oriented: humanistic approach written from the perspective of the institution and guides users
Feature oriented: highlights differentiators of the program
Visual design
Analyzing three brand filters we gathered during the brand story workshop, we generated style tiles that conveyed intelligence, professionalism, and modernity.
By applying my learnings from Presenting Design Work by Donna Spencer, I guided shareholders by framing what type of feedback we needed in order to move in the best direction for our target audience.
We analyzed Trinity U’s branding and expansive color pallete to select the deep blues to convey trustworthiness in the institution. We elevated the use of color overlays and created texture.
Results
We delivered a design that was a refinement of the existing Trinity U branding for Dublin Dental University Hospital creating a timeless yet modern feeling that was inviting to prospective students.
