My role: Web Designer

About the project

SIMS Software is industrial security information management software for the government and defense industries. In anticipation of their upcoming 40th anniversary and the introduction of a novel service, the organization sought to modernize its digital presence to align more effectively with contemporary trends.

The existing brand identity was deemed outdated despite the organization's prominent position in its industry. With guidance from our design director, I developed the rebrand for the web redesign and conceptualized a scroll animation to reflect the software features.

User flows

I lead strategy using a framework I developed that combines the three levels of marketing awareness—awareness, consideration, and decision with wireframing. The different perspectives are used as a framework to write the web copy. Each design is influenced by the different levels of awareness, resulting in designs differing in interaction and layout to communicate goals in a more dynamic way.

  1. Brand Messaging: Leveraging brand messaging and assertions stemming from the brand story workshop, with an introduction to "SIMS infinity," the organization's novel product.

  2. Product Features: Emphasizing distinctive qualities of the program while reinforcing the product through the brand's influence, with the 40th anniversary serving as a secondary focal point.

  3. Demo-Oriented: Displaying an abstract representation of the service, accompanied by a list of its features in a supportive capacity.

Results

We delivered a design that brought the company to the present. The client preferred to keep the actual software confidential so we designed a solution that took advantage of that by using an abstract visual to represent it. I helped develop the process of designing and prototyping this interactive element as it was the first of its kind at UNINCORPORATED.
